Bibby’s Kitchen @ 36 is named after cook and food blogger Dianne Biddy’s life-changing decision which she made at age 36. Leaving a career in fashion design behind, she tied her apron strings and started on her new food journey – creating unfussy, beautiful food, with particular passion for baking. “Eating food and cake is a job? Best day ever!”

What’s the absolute best thing and the absolute pits about your job?

“Creating a new dish that tastes awesome and works first time round. Worst is definitely tidying up the kitchen carnage after a food shoot.”

What is a food aroma you love?
“Freshly brewed, strong coffee is the aroma I love best for early mornings and winters are not complete without the citrusy smell of a pot of marmalade bubbling on the stove.”

What’s the worst thing you’ve ever eaten?
“A peanut butter, noodle soup – alarmingly confusing and awfully memorable.”

Is there is food trend that you wish would go away?
“I’m not too big on ash food.”

Favourite spot for lunch?
“La Colombe for the magnificent view, outstanding food and super staff.”

“Super Sconto for everything Italian, Farmers markets for fresh produce and the obvious but trustworthy, Woolworths.”

“Ancient grains and all things Middle Eastern.”

“Halva and pistachio ice cream. Can you ever have enough halva in your life?”

“I’d cook pasta for friends with a cheerful bottle of Prosecco to go.”

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life it would be?
“I could easily eat roast vegetable salads topped with goat’s cheese and heaps of nuts for a very long time.”
